This Edition of “Continental Drift Monthly”
World Exclusive: Africa moves 17.92mm closer to Europe
Hot on the heels of last month's revelation that Africa had moved 17.92mm further north is the report that it has done it again. At this rate by the end of the year the entire continent will have shifted in a northerly direction by a total of 2.15cm.
Thrilling Revelation: No Change in Speed or Direction of Antarctica
With a stated velocity of approximately 2.05 cm/year the Antarctic land mass shows no signs of swinging wildly in an unpredictable direction or speeding up or slowing down in a dramatic way.
Amazing News: Indonesia Still Roughly Where it Was Last Month
It can be very difficult to accurately determine speed and direction when dealing with objects which move as slowly as Indonesia, but it's probably a safe assumption that there will be no appreciable difference in location over the past month. So the good news is, if you're planning an air trip to this part of the world the chances are the pilot will have very little trouble locating the destination provided he's flown the route at least once during the last 180 million years.
