Updates

Specially for you here is a new mix and video for "Mary Jane" written by Gregg. During live sets Ron would put down his guitar for this one, and instead play harmonica with an emphasis on the "harm".

Mary Jane

Earlier than this was a new mix and video for "FingerCringe" written by Ron. One of the most unpopular songs for playing live because of eponymous digit attrition due to the incessant awkward riff. Peach in particular, having to play this on bass, by the end of the song would present us accusingly with his left hand as a pulsating angry red bunch of bananas. Hope you enjoy.

FingerCringe

Before that we added a newly minted video and 2017 remix of the classic Spooks' set opener "Watching and Waiting". One day the whole first album may be re-imagined in this way...

Watching and Waiting

From the recent past of July, here's two spiffing recipes for jelly:

Jellies

Here's a very rare video, never placed online before, recently resurrected from a crumbling archive. Taking time out from being in the Spooks, Eddie Macnaughtan and Scott Fraser made this video in 1989. This is one of Scott's songs which is a little too much like solo Syd Barrett to be suitable for the Spooks themselves. Eddie did most of the camerawork, all within Scott's flat in Thistle Street, Edinburgh. Both were nearly gassed by the fumes resulting from setting light to a telephone in the confines of the small apartment. If you can get past the crude recording and low-tech arrangement we hope you'll enjoy this.

Insane

One website exclusive was the famous advert connected with Peach McNulty's gem "Sycamore Seed":

Here's the advert for Gregg Comparison's most innovative guitar effects pedal ever. Only previously available as track five/side two of the Spooks' album "The All-Seeing Chelsea Boot"

Fuzzaway Pedal Advert

Here's the famous radio advert for undoubtedly another of the most exciting and innovative guitar pedals from both within and without the sixties. Also available as track one/side two of the Spooks' album "The All-Seeing Chelsea Boot"

Chihuahua Pedal Advert

Consider this brand new remix of the original recording of the classic "Sally Machine" written by Ron Doo Ron. We've even created an exclusive video to help showcase its superbity.

Sally Machine

When we celebrated New Year's Day 2017 we posted this video of Ron playing Celebrity Breakout. As you can see, he played it all the way through 2016. Click the link below...

Even earlier updates....

At long last here's another newly-edited video taken from the last Bikini Club gig just over a year ago. No prizes for guessing which 60s band the Spooks were thinking of when they wrote this one.

Mazeweaver

Here's another video taken from that Bikini Club gig. This was the penultimate song of the evening, written in the distinctive style of our very own Dingo Rodent III.

Sorrow

And then here's a video taken by some of our friends at the more recent gig in the Voodoo Rooms in Edinburgh. Thanks to everyone who came along and made the evening such great fun.

Handsome

Here is a preview of a track from the Spooks' new album. It's written by singer/guitarist Ron Doo Ron and is called "Jack the Tripper"

Here is a video of the third song from the Spooks' December 2014 gig at the Bikini Club. It's "Sycamore Seed", written by Peach McNulty for the forthcoming second album. Click on the link to go to YouTube...

Sycamore Seed

And, in case you missed it recently:

Here we have the second posted song from that gig. This one is "Mile High Strawberry Pie", written by Ron Doo Ron, and present and correct in its usual place opening the second and trippier set of the evening.

Mile High Strawberry Pie

Enjoy.
